We already missed the capper game and decided to run a track that we know well and recently visited. We're back in Louisville, KY, to play the ponies at Churchill Downs. The last time we were at the track, we were at Pimlico for the Preakness. Although we didn't have a great day overall, we did pick the winner of the featured race, which was a nice outcome. Congratulations to Journalism and its connections for their impressive comeback win, which didn't seem likely at one point. Journalism is heading to New York and is pointed toward the Belmont, where he is expected to face off once again against Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty.

Today, we have eight races on the card, with no stakes races. While it's a smaller card, these can sometimes create the best opportunities to cash tickets. The featured race today is the seventh race, which is a one-mile route on the dirt track with a purse of $127,000. Only fillies that are three years old or older are permitted to compete in this race. The weather looks promising, with highs in the low 60s and mostly cloudy skies, leading to a fast track. All races today are on dirt, so there is no turf rating to consider.
