Welcome to Derby Week! šš¹š¹š¹š
It goes without saying that we look forward to this week all year and can't wait to see how the 150th Run for the Roses plays out. However, before we get to R12 on Saturday and the equally exciting Kentucky Oaks on Friday, we have a full slate of races this week at this world-famous track that opened in 1875. The Derby (first held in the same year) is now the longest continually running sporting event in America.
Fun Fact: The famous Twin Spires, which sit atop the grandstands, was designed by architect Joseph Dominic Baldez and built in 1895.
For your Tuesday š wagering, the folks at Churchill Downs have put together a very nice mix of races to start Derby Week. Mother Nature won't be a problem (even with some possible morning rain). And looking ahead - we expect to have fast & firm conditions for Saturday.

NATIONAL ADOPT A SHELTER PET DAY
Each year, National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day on April 30th raises awareness for thousands of pets that are waiting for (and needing) adoption from the shelters.
Animal shelters require year-round assistance, and adoption is a part of the process. Since animals come in daily, the shelters must work quickly to ensure the animals' health and well-being. Only then can they be adopted into their forever home. The day also encourages you to visit a shelter near you and find your new fur baby. Visit with the shelter to consider all the needs the dog or cat requires for the long term.
