Happy Sunday & CA Beer Festival @ Santa Anita 🍺🍻🍺🍻

We are back for another day of racing during Hollywood Gold Cup weekend from Arcadia, CA, and Santa Anita Park. Yesterday was an up-and-down day for us, as we only had three top-pick winners for a loss of $7.60 and an ROI of -38%. However, we did manage to add five second-pick winners, resulting in a profit of $4.00 and an ROI of 10%. So if you used our Lundin Line top-rated selections, you had a chance at some nice winning tickets yesterday.

Hopefully you didn’t drink too many beers and are ready for today’s nine-race card. There are no stakes races on today’s card and no true featured race, but we do have three races with $65K+ purses and no fewer than six runners in every race before scratches are announced.

The weather is going to be superb again, with highs in the mid-70s and mostly sunny skies. We hope your weekend is going well and that you take a moment to remember why we have the extended weekend. We must remember the fallen, as they are the ones who made the ultimate sacrifice and allowed us to post our Lundin Line.

Make sure you shake a veteran’s hand and say thank you this weekend. If you are out and about, buy their coffee, beer, or whatever you can if you can afford it. It’s a small token to show your appreciation for the men and women on the front lines protecting us every day.

Santa Anita Park, located in Arcadia, California, opened on December 25, 1934, as the first legally sanctioned racetrack in Southern California after the state legalized parimutuel wagering. Founded by tycoon Charles H. "Doc" Strub and cinematic legend Hal Roach, the track quickly became a premier destination for Thoroughbred racing, renowned for its stunning Art Deco architecture and the backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains. It is famously linked to the legendary Seabiscuit, who secured a dramatic victory in the 1940 Santa Anita Handicap, a race often referred to as the "Big 'Cap." During World War II, the facility took a somber turn when it was closed to racing and served as the Santa Anita Assembly Center, a temporary detention camp for Japanese Americans before they were sent to internment camps. Reopening in 1945, Santa Anita restored its status as a cornerstone of American racing, hosting numerous Breeders' Cup World Championships and witnessing the triumphs of greats like Affirmed, Spectacular Bid, and Zenyatta, while remaining one of the most aesthetically celebrated sporting venues in the world.
