Happy Friday & National Doughnut Day! 🍩

We made it to Friday, which means the weekend is basically here. That means plenty of opportunities to play the ponies, so let’s not waste any time and get right to the third jewel of the filly Triple Crown.

Yesterday, we did better than Wednesday, but it was still not great. We had four top-pick winners for a near break-even day, but we did not have as much success with the second-pick winners, adding just one more of those and posting a rough negative ROI. We have three days to bounce back, and we are not going to hold back or be scared. We are going to push down the stretch and charge for that finish line to get in the money.

Today’s card has 14 total races, five stakes, and, as noted, the final gem of the filly Triple Crown. That featured race comes in the 10th race around 2:00 p.m. PDT and is the Grade 1 Acorn Stakes. This is a 1 1/8-mile route on the dirt course for 3-year-old fillies only. The purse for this race is $500K. We only have five total runners in this race, but four of them come off a strong Kentucky Oaks run five weeks ago. While we won’t have a filly Triple Crown winner, all four of the returning starters finished in the top five in that race, so we are in for a great featured race today, and Always a Runner looks to take two of three races.

The weather is holding strong, with highs in the upper 80s and mostly sunny skies. The track is fast and the turf is firm, so another great day of racing is ahead. If you noticed today, first post is a little earlier than the last couple of days, and tomorrow it will be even earlier. Make sure you are up and ready to cash those tickets with us tomorrow as well!!!
