Happy Belmont Saturday & National Chocolate Ice Cream Day!
The day has finally arrived—the third jewel of the Triple Crown is upon us. Since November, we have been eagerly awaiting this moment, as the Kentucky Derby trail began and we sought to discover the best horse of this year's crop. It has been a long journey with many thrilling finishes, and the anticipation is building for what promises to be one of the best races of the year.
We’re back for the biggest day of the Belmont Racing Festival at Saratoga, ready to find some winners. Yesterday was a decent day, featuring four top-pick winners and two second-pick winners. Unfortunately, though, the small payouts on most bets resulted in a negative return on investment for win bets. While there were opportunities to cash in on decent tickets with proper ticket structuring, we're satisfied with the outcomes given the weather conditions. Rain led to the scratching of several horses, and the card had to move off turf after it had already started.
Today's card includes 14 scheduled races, featuring eight stakes races and the final leg of the Triple Crown. The highlighted race will be the Belmont Stakes, which takes place in the 13th race. Even though we are at Saratoga, Belmont is currently undergoing renovations, so the NYRA has moved the event to a nearby track to continue this exciting weekend. Traditionally, the Belmont is run at 1 ½ miles on dirt; however, due to the change in venue, it will now contest at 1 ¼ miles. Additionally, the purse for this featured race has increased from $1 million to $2 million, providing even more incentive for the winning connections.
We will witness a rematch of the top three finishers from the Kentucky Derby: Sovereignty, the Derby winner; Baeza, who finished third; and Journalism, who was second in the Derby and claimed victory in the Preakness. A total of seven horses will compete in this race, as one horse has scratched.
Be sure to check out our Manhattan race (Race 12) and Belmont double video, along with insights from several other expert cappers on the Trust the Prophets YouTube channel or Colin Sheehan's X page to gather as much information as you can for potential payouts.
Today’s weather forecast is not promising, with highs in the low 70s and rain forecasted throughout the day. Most of the turf races have been moved to dirt; however, we have adjusted our picks accordingly. The turf is currently rated as yielding, while the dirt is classified as sloppy, which may lead to some unexpected performances.
We hope you’ve enjoyed joining us on this journey leading up to the racing season and that you’ve cashed a few tickets to build your bankroll. Although our Lundin Line won't be going anywhere, we may slow down slightly after the Triple Crown season concludes. Thank you to everyone who has read, liked, shared, or reposted our picks; we do this for the love of the sport and in memory of our dear friend Bill. I have no doubt he’ll be sending us some winners while he dances with his wife today!

Need help picking winners? We've got you covered! Our (Always Free) Lundin Line's top picks and best bets are below. We use them to help narrow the field while putting our tickets together. The first post will be here soon, so don't be late -
