It has been nearly two weeks since the Run for the Roses, and now our focus shifts to the next jewel of the Triple Crown: the Preakness Stakes. We will be headed to Baltimore, Maryland, for the week to enjoy the races at Pimlico Race Course.
The last time we posted our Lundin Line, we were at Belmont at the Big A. We managed five top pick winners there, resulting in a return on investment (ROI) of -17.3%, as most of our winners were the favorites. However, if you used our top two picks, you would have found a few more winners for an ROI of 3.4%. While it wasn't our best day, that’s why we always provide our top-rated picks for each race, allowing you to build your own tickets.
As we prepare for the big weekend, we have a solid warm-up today with nine races from Pimlico. There are no stakes races scheduled today, which gives us the opportunity to ease into the weekend. The featured race today, which carries the largest purse, is the sixth race. This is a six-furlong sprint on the dirt course for three-year-old maiden fillies, with a purse of $47,000.
The weather today is expected to reach highs in the mid-70s, with cloudy skies. There’s a chance of rain, but it’s uncertain if we’ll see any at the track. Due to earlier rainfall this week, we are off turf, and the track has been rated as sloppy.
