We’re back! Technically, we had a small card on Tuesday, but this is our first big one of the week after a nice little layoff.

Tuesday’s card produced only two top-pick winners, resulting in a small negative ROI. On Derby Day last Saturday, however, we had six top-pick winners for a profit of $19.34 and a daily ROI of 69.1%. We hit five in a row during the middle Pick 5, so we hope you had that sequence and made a nice score.

Overall, during the first week at Churchill we had 27 top-pick winners for a profit of $25.20 and an ROI of 16.8%. While not elite over the seven days, it was a solid return for anyone using our top selections.

Today we head east to play the full card from Belmont at the Big A. Belmont Park is still under renovation, so they’re using their sister track to host the races. This meet will only run for about six more weeks, with the track set to shutter at the end of June—another venue lost, just like here in Northern California. Horse racing is changing, and no one knows yet whether it’s for better or worse.

Enough of the sad news—let’s get to this 11-race card, which features four stakes races. The featured event is Race 9, the Peter Pan Stakes, a Grade 3, 1 1/8-mile route on the dirt for three-year-olds with a purse of $200,000. This is the first major race after the Derby where the next tier of three-year-olds will be showcased. Some of the runners may have been on the Derby trail and were either taken off by their connections or didn’t earn enough points to make the starting gate.

It will be a true New York spring day, with highs in the mid-50s and rain throughout the afternoon. Be sure to check the scratches before building your tickets, as the track rating was not available at the time of writing this post.
