We needed some time off after a long week leading up to the Kentucky Derby. We did not have the winner in the run for the roses so we thought hey what a good day to play the ponies as we can gorge ourselves on this national "holiday." Next week we shift our focus to Maryland for the second leg of the triple crown but then three short weeks later we head to New York where the Belmont Stakes will move to Saratoga for a few years while renovations are happening at Belmont Park. We thought it would be a good idea to get a few reps in today at the Big A before then so we are ready for the east coast. Before we do that let's take a look back in time:

This is the $400k G2T Man o' War Stakes for four-year-olds and up, is 11 furlongs so don't hold your breath as this one leaves the gate, and will be run over the turf course. The weather today is cooperating as we will see mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 60s. With recent weather, some races are off turf today but the track is fast and turf is good meaning we have another great day of racing ahead!
