To celebrate we are headed to Queens, NY where we are playing the ponies from Aqueduct Race Track! While today you will hear all about NCAA championship games and the College football playoff, we think we should be talking more about this exciting card the NYRA has put together. Not only do we get four stakes races, all of which are graded, we get a chance to potentially see the Kentucky Derby winner run! That's right debry prep season rolls on today where in the 9th race 10-5-3-2-1 points will be award helping a few two year old horse get closer to the starting gate the first weekend in May! If that isn't enough in the seventh race we will see the top fillies looking for their chance to make it to the first weekend in May when 10-5-3-2-1 points are award towards the Kentucky Oaks!!! With so many futures stars running on this card don't forget the featured race is still comes in the 10th and final race of the day, the Cigar Mile. A grade 2 mile run over the dirt with a purse of $500K. Cigar was no mutt that's for sure as he was the top house two years in a row in 1995 and 1996!
As noted we have 10 races today and the weather seems to be cooperating. We will see highs in the mid 50s so a jacket might be necessary to keep warm. The sun probably won't peek out today as we will see cloudy skies most of the day. We are not sure of the tack conditions as of the writing of this post so make sure you check your apps before placing any wagers.
